For no reason at all, I decided to ride my bike to work the other day. I only work a mile from home, so why not? It felt great to be doing something new, a break from my usual routine. I thought about the calories I was burning, the muscles I was toning, the gas money I was saving. Yes, it was going to be a good day.
What I did not know was how much I would enjoy the ride! Cars were whizzing by as I was slowly pedaling away, paying attention to everything around me. The chirping birds, the lavender wisteria hanging from the trees producing that wonderful smell, the cat perched on someone's windowsill. I wasn't just going to work, I was having fun!
This was on a Friday, and by Monday I knew that I was going to skip the whole car-thing every day, except in the rain. And now, I'd like to share my journeys with you, my lovely readers.
